How it works

The Urd compiler runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Your source never leaves the page — compilation happens locally in a single synchronous call, typically less than 10 milliseconds (the first run is slower while the module initialises).

The compiler

Written in Rust with five compilation phases: parse, resolve, validate, lower, and emit. The same binary powers the CLI, the test suite (433 tests), and this playground via wasm-bindgen.

The editor

Built on CodeMirror 6 with a custom Schema Markdown language mode and the Gloaming and Parchment syntax themes. Output JSON is syntax-highlighted with a lightweight regex tokeniser.
